Dana Paul Perna, a native of Syosset, New York, received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Long Island University and a Master of Music degree at Northwestern University School of Music. He has served as writer/critic for Clari-Network magazine, EAR magazine, the Chicago Symphony Orchestra program book, Aspen Music Festival and the Percy Grainger Journal. In addition, he is the founder and music director of Holzbläser and Holzbläser-Chicago, woodwind/brass/percussion ensembles with a repertoire devoted largely to contemporary composers. He has been affiliated with the Jean Martinon International Society, International Percy Grainger Society (both U.S.A. and United Kingdom), the editorial staff of Bardic Edition (U.K.), Cadenza Artists, the American Symphony Orchestra League, and ASCAP.
