A native of the Twin Cities, Joshua Reznicow, holds a B.M. in string education and composition/theory from the University of Northern Iowa. While there he studied viola/violin with Frederick Halgedahl, cello with Jonathan Chenoweth, and composition with Dr. Jeremy Beck, Dr. Lathon Jernigan, and Dr. Jonathan Schwabe. In leading up to his current teaching position in the Linn-Mar Community School District in Marion, Iowa, Mr. Reznicow has taught at UNI, Coe College, and throughout the country. Some of his teaching assignments have included teaching theory and composition at the UNI Suzuki School, teaching string methods and string techniques at Coe College as well as teaching composition and music history at the Tops Piano Camp in Boca Raton, Florida. Mr. Reznicow was also Composer-in-Residence at the Austin Chamber Music Center (ACMC) in Austin, Texas during the summers of 1999 and 2001. While there he coached several string ensembles, and had several of his pieces performed and premiered.

In addition, Mr. Reznicow has been an active conductor. For the 2001–2002 season he was co-director of the Cedar Rapids Youth Philharmonic, and in April 2002 he was guest conductor and composer for the West Des Moines Elementary Orchestra Festival. In 2003 and 2004 he guest directed the Cedar Rapids Metro Orchestra Festival in Cedar Rapids, Iowa and was one of two guest directors at the Kennedy Honors Orchestra Festival also held in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Recently Mr. Reznicow guest directed the 23rd annual Intermediate String Festival in Davenport, Iowa.

Mr. Reznicow has composed works for professional and young groups including pieces for piano, various chamber ensembles, orchestral, and choral works. Mr. Reznicow has been performed by the Iowa All-State Orchestra, the National High School Music Institute at Northwestern University, the Austin Chamber Music Center, and by several high school, middle school and professional groups from around the country.

Mr. Reznicow is a member of the American String Teacher Association (ASTA), the Iowa String Teacher Association (ISTA) where he currently serves as Member at Large-East on their board of directors, the Iowa Composers Forum (ICF) where he currently serves as secretary on the board of directors. Mr. Reznicow currently resides in Cedar Rapids, Iowa with his wife Karen and their two cats Lupe and Leo.
