In typical stately, British style, these selections (composed in the same year as Elgar's famous Enigma Variations), have been skillfully adapted for intermediate bands. Mostly ensemble scoring, it is a terrific introduction to this classic style and, with its harmonic comfort, allows emerging bands to take some safe chances.
