About Song and Dance (arr. Hall)
Edvard Grieg is Norway’s most revered composer. The Song of the Watchman is lyrical in style in contrast to marcato-staccato style of The Sailors’ Song which follows. Rhythms are not difficult but are independent and articulations are well marked. Both pieces are quite short. Range is from high F two octaves down to low F. This is quality music by a quality composer, offering an excellent ensemble experience. OMEA Class: C
