About Fanfare and March
This quartet was written for younger brass players to have a small ensemble experience playing the style of music that brass players play best - fanfares and marches! There are no surprises. All four parts are of equal importance and a marcato style is absolutely essential. The key is E-flat concert and ranges and technique are quite limited in all parts allowing time to concentrate on playing well musically. This is an excellent quartet for a first experience in small ensemble playing, Even though written from 2 trumpets, horn and trombone, the horn part can be played equally will by trombone requiring a range only up to E-flat above the staff.
