American Rondo
Adapted from one of the composer's string quartets (known as the "American"), this high-spirited piece suggests the style of American folk music. Dvorak spent several very happy months in a small town in Iowa during his visit to the United States, and it's possible this music was intended as a jolly souvenir of those times.
